Alex

Alex started ballet at age 3 with a teacher called Ersula until Patti Gleeson would take her at the age of 4. After completing all grades up to Advanced Foundation mostly resulting in Distinctions, she performed for years with Central Dance Company and travelled to perform in Japan with the group as a junior/sub senior in 1999.

Alex auditioned and was accepted into Newtown High School of the Performing Arts for Years 11 & 12, where she studied Dance & Classical Ballet for her HSC.

She was student teaching for Patti whilst studying her HSC and was then offered a position as the Ballet/Dance Teacher at Lamott School of Dance which the following year became Elite Dance at Niagara Park youth centre. She then became a Teachers Aide in Schools to pass the time during the day.

Teaching for many schools over the past 20 years, also became a Youth officer at Frank Baxter Juvenile Justice Centre and became certified in Barré Attack.

Currently Alex runs a small cleaning business, a fitness studio where she teaches Barre Attack, and is an extra for film/tv/commercial work, also a volunteer for Central Dance Company, where she met Darren Disney. After chatting and discovering they had the same passion and drive for teaching, she knew if she was going to go back to teaching ballet, it had to be for him!
